Dani Alves is in search of a new team after his second spell at Barcelona came to an end in June.
The Brazilian right-back demonstrated last season that, despite his 39 years of age, he is still fit enough to play top-flight football.
He played 1,098 minutes across 14 games for the Blaugrana, scoring one goal and registering three assists.
Alves was recently linked with a move to Mexican side Tigres, but coach Miguel Herrera ruled out his signing because of the player's age.
"I try to rejuvenate the squad," said Herrera.
"Who wouldn't want to have Dani Alves?
"But having a player of that age is more about the name and the media than what he offers on the pitch.
"I want Dani, but the one who played under Pep Guardiola.
"Now, at his age, he is more of a bombshell in terms of his name than in terms of how he can help us. Maybe he will play a good tournament."
Alves was not impressed by Herrera's comments and took to social media to ironically respond to the Tigres coach.
"The f**king dude manages time now," Alves wrote on his Twitter account.
