The last time these two sides met in front of a full Palace ground was in December 2019 where they drew 1-1 thanks to goals from Neal Maupay and Wilfried Zaha.
Palace are unbeaten against the Seagulls in their last four matches, drawing and winning two.
The last two fixtures were played behind closed doors but now the home advantage could make the difference.
The Eagles haven't won at home against their 'El Gatwicko' rivals since April 2018, where viewers were treated to a five-goal thriller.
Now, Patrick Vieira will be in charge for his first taste of the derby.

Crystal Palace v Brighton: Team News
Vieira will be expecting a tough battle this evening and will be depending on his front line to score against the high flying Seagulls.
Their only injuries remain the long-term absentees Eberechi Eze and Nathan Ferguson.
Graham Potter is without Adam Webster who missed their win over Leicester last weekend with a hamstring injury.
Yves Bissouma, who was taken off in the second half, is also a doubt and was assessed over the weekend.
Potter will be hoping to have Alexis Mac Allister back in their squad after scoring and assisting already this season from off the bench as he picked up a knock last week.
Enock Mwepu is also hoping to return but remains a doubt with a groin injury.
Potter revealed that Tariq Lamptey will be in the squad.
Crystal Palace v Brighton: What's been said?
Vieira will be hoping that Zaha can channel his passion and be consistent for the big derby clash: "I don't want him to change - I want him to play with the same kind of passion.
"He is a winner, and I want that kind of winning mentality to be translated to the rest of the team. That is his personality, and I like to see him like that on the field.
"Wilfried playing those kind of games at home or away, he knows the intensity, the atmosphere of the stadium - he knows what to expect. Being in the dressing room, he will talk to the players who never had the chance to play those games.
"As a top player, he needs to be consistent in his performance.
"Against Liverpool, he was good. He had the time to create something for the team. I was really happy with the last couple of games he played, and I will want him to maintain that level because he is an important player for us."
Meanwhile, similar encouragements have been heard from the Brighton boss about their own talisman Maupay.
Potter said: "He needs to stay on the path he is on.. To understand challenges of Premier League and isn't always easy to succeed.
"It's easier to stay in the Championship and score 20 or 30 goals a season. That isn't so easy in Premier League. He is learning to contribute in and be a part of the team - if he's not scoring.
"And I think he's done that better and better playing in this league. Like anything, with experience, reflection, learning, he becomes a better player."
