That was Jason Cundy's view after Antonio Conte hit out at Spurs' transfer business and winning mentality in a stunning interview on Wednesday.
Conte's men are on a disastrous run of form and the Italian took aim at their current predicament by saying they are now 'weaker' after the January window.
Juventus duo Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski both arrived, but they came after four senior stars left in Tanguy Ndomble, Dele Alli, Bryan Gil and Giovani Lo Celso.
"It's always difficult to make comparisons, but if I had to find something similar, it would be the lack of confidence that is inevitable when you start work at a club that hasn't won in a long time," Conte told Sky Italia.
"We lost four players in January. Four important players for Tottenham, and we brought in only two. So even just in terms of numbers, rather than reinforce the squad, we on paper weakened it.
"Bentancur and Kulusevski are ideal prospects for Tottenham, because Tottenham are seeking young players they can develop and grow, not players who are ready. That is the issue."
And speaking about his remarks, Cundy branded Conte's comments 'damning' and insists the former Chelsea boss regrets taking the job.
"Basically he's saying, why have I come to Spurs?" Former Chelsea defender Cundy told the Sports Bar.
"That is a statement of regret. He knows it's going to come back.
"It's damning what he has said there. But he's talking facts."
Former Spurs playmaker O'Hara echoed the sentiments of his Sports Bar co-host, saying Conte's comments will have done his players no good.
O'Hara said: "It's too honest. I'm not happy about it. He's covering his own back and digging everyone else out at the club.
"I know he's speaking facts, but he can't do that as manager."
He added: "If you're a player you're a little bit disappointed in the gaffer there.
"You can see he's not happy, on the sidelines, he looks like he's crushed and the weight of the world is on his shoulders and he doesn't know how to get out.
"He's always had great players and he's always had clubs who want to win the league and now he's at a club that don't want to win the league."
Spurs' defeat to Wolves last weekend made it three consecutive defeats for Conte for the first time in 12 years.
It put a huge dent in their chances of finishing in the top four and qualifying for the Champions League.
They are currently eighth in the Premier League, seven points behind fourth-placed Man United having played three games left.
