Chelsea target goalkeeper also linked with Man United and Bayern as duo tipped for exit

Chelsea are eyeing Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel, with Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy expected to leave, according to reports.

Despite spending £600million on new recruits, the club are languishing in 11th in the Premier League, having endured a very underwhelming campaign.

Both 31-year-old Mendy and 28-year-old Kepa are likely to form part of a mass clearout in the summer.

According to BILD, the Blues are seeking an 'above-average' replacement for the duo, and have earmarked Kobel.

The report adds the Swiss international has been put 'high on the scouting list' at Stamford Bridge.

Dortmund are keen to keep hold of the 25-year-old, who has been one of the best in the Bundesliga this campaign.

The goalkeeper is in no rush to leave the German giants, but is seeking a bigger responsibility in the dressing room.

Kobel has stepped up to speak after games, and his performances on the pitch have also been noticed by Manchester United and Bayern Munich, according to Sport1.

The goalkeeper joined Dortmund from Stuttgart in the summer of 2021 for €15million (£13.2m).

A move to Chelsea is certainly not out of the window, given Kobel is no stranger to chief Christopher Vivell.

The Blues co-sporting director was an analyst and scout at Hoffenheim when Kobel joined as a teenager from Grasshoppers Zurich.
