Chelsea were victorious on the night, beating last year's finalists Newcastle on penalties to advances to the semi-finals.
Mudryk was the hero of the hour as he equalised in the second minute of added time in the second half, cancelling out Callum Wilson's 16th minute opener.
The Ukrainian's goal came from a mistake from Trippier - who has made a series of errors in recent weeks - with the Newcastle star failing to head the ball away from danger in the box, allowing Mudryk to swoop in and find the bottom corner.
Trippier's woes continued in the penalty shootout too.
The former Tottenham man stepped up to take the Magpies' second spot-kick, but failed to hit the target.

Mudryk, who successfully converted his penalty, gave his opponent some support on Instagram following the game.
"Kieran, just wanna say to you, stay strong," he wrote on a picture of him and Trippier on his story. "Sometimes the s*** happens.
"But I think you are [a] strong footballer no matter what."
Trippier had replaced Emil Krafth at half-time as Newcastle appeared to lose yet another star to injury.

However, his manager Eddie Howe has stood by him, issuing a passionate defence of his star after the game.
"He is an incredibly strong character as I said many times. He's a transformative signing, someone who has taken the group on to a totally new level," the Newcastle manager said.
"He's been the heartbeat of that, so now he's given us so much, now is our turn to support him and look after him the other way and that's what we'll do."
