Chelsea's Beniot Badiashile 'features' on Juventus' transfer shortlist alongside two Premier League defenders

sportsmole.co.uk, 16 November 2024, 14:34
Italian giants Juventus have reportedly added Chelsea defender Benoit Badiashile to their list of defensive targets.

Chelsea splashed out a reported £32.7m to sign Badiashile from Monaco in January 2023, with the centre-back putting pen to paper on a long-term deal until the summer of 2030.

Badiashile has been unable to establish himself as a regular starter since swapping the Principality for Stamford Bridge.

The Frenchman has been restricted to one Premier League appearance during the current campaign, with Enzo Maresca preferring to utilise Wesley Fofana and Levi Colwill as his main central defensive pairing.

As a result, the 23-year-old defender has relied on the Conference League and EFL Cup to gain some valuable playing time.

Juventus add Badiashile to transfer shortlist

Having struggled for game time in the Premier League, Badiashile could be offered a way out of Stamford Bridge by a major European club.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has added Badiashile to his list of potential defensive targets.

Juventus are seemingly keen to sign a new centre-back, with Gleison Bremer set to miss the rest of the season after sustaining an anterior cruciate ligament injury in October.

As a result, Thiago Motta is currently left with Federico Gatti, Pierre Kalulu and Danilo as his three main central defensive options.

The report claims that Giuntoli is assessing players who could be available on loan deals in the January transfer window.

The Serie A club may also be open to permanent additions, but they are only likely to entertain deals that could happen for a cut-price fee.

Dragusin, Andersen join Badiashile on Juventus shortlist

In addition to Badiashile, Juventus have also added two other Premier League defenders to their list of potential Janaury targets.

The Italian giants are believed to be considering Tottenham Hotspur's Radu Dragusin and Fulham's Joachim Andersen as possible additions.

Dragusin is behind Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven in the pecking order, but the latter's injury has given him the opportunity to start the last two games.

Meanwhile, Andersen has established himself as a regular starter in Marco Silva's side since he completed his return to Fulham in the summer.

Juventus are also keeping tabs on defenders outside the Premier League, with the Serie A club said to be interested in Paris Saint-Germain's Milan Skriniar, Feyenoord's David Hancko and Bayer Leverkusen's Jonathan Tah.
