Romeo Lavia

The Blues are stepping up their attempts to sign the Southampton midfielder this summer, talkSPORT understands.

Chelsea had a big-money offer for Lavia rejected by Saints weeks after the 19-year-old joined Saints from Manchester City in July.

Chelsea's recruitment director Joe Shields was instrumental in bringing Lavia to the south coast when he had a similar position at the St Mary's Stadium.
