Chelsea, Man City and Man United 'make huge offers' for Croatian World Cup star

A trio of Premier League clubs are preparing a move for Croatian sensation Josko Gvardiol.

The central defender has been in stunning form at the World Cup with Croatia preparing for a semi-final clash with Argentina this week, meaning that they're just two potential matches from the ultimate prize.

With some fine displays for RB Leipzig under his belt this term as well, the 20-year-old has some huge names chasing his signature.

According to Foot Mercato, Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea are all preparing offers for the player.

Chelsea were heavily linked with a move for the player over the summer, however with no deal agreed it has paved the way for significant interest from elsewhere.

As per the report, Manchester City have offered in excess of £85million and includes a sell-on percentage, while Chelsea and United have offered between £77m and £82m for his services.

Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Real Madrid are also keen to make a move for the player who is regarded as one of the top defensive talents in world football.

Gvardiol started his career with Dinamo Zagreb before moving onto German giants RB Leipzig, racking up 117 club appearances in his young career to date.

The 20-year-old has also picked up 17 caps for Croatia after making his senior debut in the summer of 2021, with Gvardiol hoping that he'll be able to get his hands on the World Cup trophy in the next week.
