Bellingham sends intriguing message to Henderson amid Liverpool transfer link

Jude Bellingham has sent the rumour mill surrounding his club future into overdrive with a simple one-word message to Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson.

Due to the absurd amount of technical quality teenage Bellingham boasts, only a select few clubs in world football have been linked with him as he would be so far out of reach for even some of the Premier League's best operators. Liverpool are one of the fortunate few being touted with a move for the Birmingham -born sensation.

Henderson, meanwhile, has recently been the subject of a short Nike documentary entitled 'Jordan Henderson is Never Done', which was released last weekend. The short film is centred around the midfielder's rise to the top of the game told by those who have been with him along the way.

Following the release, Henderson took to Instagram to say: "Thank you to everyone who took part in this 'Never Done' series. What people had to say in it means a lot to me and I will continue to give them my best going forward. The comments section was flooded with praise for the midfielder, but amidst all the adulation was a short message from one of the most highly-sought players in the game right now in Bellingham. The Borussia Dortmund talent left little doubt over how he feels about Henderson with the reply: "Legend."

While his intentions may have been just to heap praise on his international colleague, Bellingham's interaction with Henderson is sure to spark excitement among some of the more optimistic Reds fans that he could one day be lining up alongside him in a Liverpool shirt.

The best of the very best are keeping tabs on Bellingham's situation in Germany, with Liverpool one of the clubs who are believed to admire the teenager. With that being said, a summer switch for him could prove too difficult due to a number of factors.

Whether Bellingham would want to up sticks to a new league just months before he hopes to make England's World Cup squad in November of this year is one of them. One would also consider the fact that he may not be guaranteed as much game time at Anfield as he currently is at Westfalenstadion - there are a plethora of gifted technicians already in the middle of the park for Liverpool, including Henderson, Fabinho and Thiago to name just three.

There is also the reality that Dortmund have already received one hefty transfer fee in exchange for one of their most prized assets when Erling Haaland sealed his £51million move to Manchester City this summer - the German outfit are in no desperate need to cash in again.

Next summer is when the Bundesliga titans are likely to be more open to the idea of parting ways with Bellingham, though it is still not likely to come cheap from a buyer's perspective. Liverpool could lead the charge when the time comes, but the Reds hierarchy are nothing if not patient when it comes to transfers.
