Bayern keen to hijack Spurs move for Dragusin with late bid

Spurs currently have just two fit centre-backs in their ranks and will use to the January transfer window to reinforce their defence.

talkSPORT reported earlier on Tuesday that the north London side are hopeful of completing a move for Genoa defender Dragusin.

Ange Postecoglou's side were able to agree a package with the Italian club worth £25million plus add-ons and Djed Spence going on loan.

However, their plans may well have been scuppered as Bayern have made a bid for the Romania international.

Spurs remain confident that they'll welcome the 21-year-old to the club, but the final decision now rests with the player.

Dragusin was promoted from the Juventus academy into the first-team and was sent on loan to Sampdoria and Salernitana.

He first joined Genoa when they were in Serie B last season on a loan deal, which became permanent after several objectives were met.

The centre-back has made 22 appearances this season and scored two goals, with a move away already being touted.

Bayern's move for Dragusin could affect their pursuit of Eric Dier, who is seemingly not part of Postecoglou's plans at Spurs.

However, it remains to be seen if Spurs can win the race for one of their top targets amid a series of injury issues.
