Arsenal's transfer efforts appear to be stalling somewhat - but they have not given up hope.
The Gunners' primary target appears to be Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic, but he is still reluctant to accept a move to north London.
With time running out, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Raul De Tomas are also claimed to be on Mikel Arteta's radar, with both players seen as long-term replacements for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Edu held talks with the agent of Arthur Melo this week but has been unable to agree a deal with Juventus.
Whatever happens, Mirror Football brings you all the latest from the red half of north London.

Newcastle interested in Leno
Newcastle are keen to acquire the services of Bernd Leno until the end of the season, according to football.london.
The German has made just three appearances so far this season due to the arrival of Aaron Ramsdale over the summer, who has been one of the standout performers at the Emirates.
Leno has become frustrated at his lack of playing time and is pushing for a move to be completed this month rather than at the end of the season, even if that means he will go away on loan before returning to North London for a permanent move.

Gunners offered Jovic
Real Madrid forward Luka Jovic has been offered to Arsenal, according to reports.
The Serbia international's struggles at Los Blancos have not eased, as the 24-year-old is yet to start a single League match for Carlo Ancelotti's side this season.
Karim Benzema's brilliance has often confined him to an almost permanent position on the bench.
However, the Evening Standard claim the 24-year-old Serbian was offered on loan to the Gunners until the end of the season.
But despite the fact Arsenal have been in the market for a new centre-forward, they have reportedly responded to the purported offer with silence.
Jovic has only scored one goal and contributed two assists for Real Madrid this season.

Isak option emerges
Arsenal have reportedly earmarked Real Sociedad striker Alexander Isak as a transfer alternative to Vlahovic.
The Gunners have been keeping tabs on the precocious Swede who is garnering a very impressive reputation for himself in La Liga.
Isak has been leading an impressive Sociedad side who are currently sixth in the table.
And reports from The Athletic understand Isak is being seriously considered by Arteta and Edu.
The 22-year-old is believed to have a buyout clause of around £75m, which would likely make him an easier, but more expensive option.
He has managed to contribute an impressive eight goals and one assist in 25 appearances for the Spanish giants.

Juve reach Vlahovic agreement
Good morning!
I'm afraid the latest reports from Italy will not be well received by Arsenal fans, as TuttoMercatoWeb claims Juventus have reached an agreement to sign Dusan Vlahovic for £56million plus bonuses.
The Gunners have been pursuing the Fiorentina start throughout the January window, but it appears the Serie A giants have won the transfer race for one of Europe's most coveted strikers.

Jack Wilshere back
Jack Wilshere is expected to fly with Arsenal during their warm-weather training camp in Dubai.
The Englishman is currently without a club but has been training with the Gunners in recent weeks as he looks to find a new club.
And with a spate of Covid cases and injuries, the north London side are down several numbers in their squad.
According to The Athletic, Wilshere is set to be invited to join Arsenal in Dubai - but there are no plans to recruit him on a permanent basis.

Arsenal legend delivers Aaron Ramsdale warning
David Seaman has warned Aaron Ramsdale over his goalkeeping at Arsenal for shouting at his defenders after a couple of mistakes in recent weeks.
The Englishman is renowned for his loud personality while he was caught out against Liverpool when Diogo Jota lobbed him in the Carabao Cup semi-final last week and Seaman has given him some advice.
On the Seaman Says podcast, he said: "I had this code with my defence; we don't shout at each other.
"If you make a mistake, we talk about it afterwards. He [Ramsdale] does need to be just a little bit aware. At the moment, he's not making mistakes.
"If he does make a mistake, then because he is having a go at his defenders, it gives them a right to have a go back at him. I don't feel that gains anything on the pitch."

Interest high in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
Arsenal outcast Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could be allowed to leave with interest high in his services.
Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr are the only side to have made a concrete offer for the the striker but there is plenty of interest around Europe.
According to Sky Sports, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, AC Milan and Sevilla are open to signing the 32-year-old, who would rather stay in Europe.

Karl Hein joins Reading
Arsenal goalkeeper Karl Hein has joined Reading on loan until the end of the season.
The 19-year-old has yet to make an appearance for the Gunners since joining them in 2018 but will get his chance to impress while at the Madejski Stadium.
"Karl is an international goalkeeper with good temperament, obvious ability and the hunger to improve and impress," Royals boss Veljko Paunovic told the club website.
The teenager comes in to replace Rafael Cabral, who had his contract at Reading mutually terminated last week.

Renato Sanches wants Lille exit
Renato Sanches has said "he is ready" to move on from Lille amid continued interest around Europe.
Arsenal are among those heavily linked with the Portuguese midfielder, who helped inspire his team to Ligue 1 glory last term.
Sanches has managed to rebuild his reputation in France having initially seen his stock fall after a rapid rise.
The 24-year-old is not looking to sign a new contract with Lille, leaving him free to leave in the summer.
He said: "Maybe Milan and Arsenal are interested but I don't know. I spoke with my agent, I know which clubs are calling me but I can't say right now.
"But I know I'm ready. If an offer comes in, I'll find out what's best for me."

Arsenal eyeing Dusan Vlahovic alternative
Arsenal are prepared to move on from the attempts to sign Dusan Vlahovic and have already identified an alternative.
According to AS, via Sport Witness, Espanyol star Raul de Tomas is now in their sights.
The chances of bringing Vlahovic to the Emirates this month look slim with Mikel Arteta desperate to bring in a striker this month.
The report goes on to state that De Tomas has already been scouted by Arsenal and has been on the club's wish list for some time.
Furthermore, the Spaniard fits Arteta's perfect liking for a forward but no official bid has been made yet.
The 27-year-old has a £59m (€70m) release clause, it is unlikely that Espanyol would demand that much, while the Madrid-born star has 12 goals in 21 La Liga appearances this season.

Adebayor blasts Arsenal
Emmanuel Adebayor opened up on his "hate" towards Arsenal, before describing Arsene Wenger as a "fake" manager.
"Mourinho is the one of the managers I loved and will always love," Adebayor said to Turkish television programme Beyond The Game.
"He is one of the [most] honest managers I have met in my career, which is crazy because most of the managers are all kind of fake.
"As an example, I had a meeting with Arsene Wenger in his office when he told me I had to leave because he didn't see my future anymore in Arsenal."

Nketiah questioned
Eddie Nketiah should not be a priority for Aston Villa, who already have a number of attacking talents under Steven Gerrard, says Kevin Phillips.
Danny Ings signed from Southampton last summer but could only command a spot on the bench when Villa's last game against Everton.
Ollie Watkins is the top choice up front yet there is strong interest in Arsenal ace Nketiah, report The Athletic.
But Premier League legend Phillips has insisted he might be better off going elsewhere, telling Football Insider: "I think the reason they're interested is because financially it's a deal that makes sense. He's going to be available on the cheap.
"Danny Ings started on the bench yesterday. Do they need Nketiah? If they bring him in there's even more competition for places."

Atletico Madrid eyeing Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Dominic Calvert-Lewin has long been a name on Arsenal's shortlist.
But they aren't the only side being linked with a move.
According to Sky Sports Germany (via Sport Witness), the Gunners remain 'fascinated' by Calvert-Lewin but Atletico Madrid also 'enquired' about the Everton man a few weeks ago.
Everton are said to value Calvert-Lewin at more than £33m but with a Vlahovic move stalling, Arsenal's interest will be one to watch.

Youngster set for League One spell
Arsenal youngster Tyreece John-Jules is set to join League One side Sheffield Wednesday on loan, according to the Sheffield Star.
The 20-year-old forward had spent the first half of the season with Blackpool, but after an underwhelming start to life in the second tier, was dropped form the match day squad entirely.
Having been recalled by the Gunners, he looks set to join the Owls for the rest of the season in the next 48 hours.
