Arsenal have 'offered' Lucas Torreira to Lazio as they try to offload the midfielder this summer.
The Uruguayan is surplus to requirements at the Emirates after failing to make an impact in north London since arriving from Sampdoria. Torreira has been farmed out on loan in recent seasons with his latest spell coming at Fiorentina which came to an end this summer.
Arsenal were hoping the Serie A club would exercise their option to make the loan move permanent but have opted not to pursue a deal for the former Atletico Madrid man due to a dispute over agent fees. The Gunners are looking to find another suitor for Torreira, as a result, and Lazio have emerged as a potential landing spot, according to Corriere dello Sport.
Torreira is one of several options being looked at by Maurizio Sarri's men with the former Chelsea boss looking to add some toughness to Lazio's midfield. Torreira has impressed during his time with La Viola but a disagreement with the player's representatives and those in charge at the club over 'commissions' means they won't trigger the purchase option in the loan deal.
Torreira doesn't have a future at Arsenal and with Torreira's contract expiring next summer, they would rather cash in on him this summer than lose him as a free agent next year.
The midfielder is a long-term target for Lazio as Sarri wanted to sign him last summer, as well as his predecessor Simone Inzaghi. Lazio would prefer to secure a loan deal, however, which Mikel Arteta's men are against currently.
The door is still open for Fiorentina to work something out but the dispute with his agent has thrown his future in doubt. Torreira remains open to joining them permanently after getting his career back on track.

Arsenal attempted to offload Torriera as a part of the negotiations for Dusan Vlahovic in January as they tried to use the midfielder as a makeweight for the striker. The Gunners were willing to waive the option to buy inserted in the loan deal but talks broke down as the Serbian snubbed a move to the Emirates in favour of a switch to Juventus.
Arsenal failed to find a replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who left for Barcelona in January, with Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nkeitah left as their only recognised no.9s. But Arteta said he did not regret the club's approach in the mid-season transfer window.
He said: "Everything that we did do, was trying to reach the objectives that we had after January - which was to try to be challenging the top four, and the way we were going to do it."
