Like many clubs across Europe, every summer Arsenal send a raft of players out on loan.
Some of those are shipped out in order to gain first-team experience, whilst for others, it's a chance to put themselves in the shop window ahead of a permanent move.
Mikel Arteta has overseen a huge squad overhaul since he was appointed in 2019 and continued that during the most recent window.
As well as bringing in six players, a string of fringe stars were allowed to leave, either permanently or on a temporary basis.
Ahead of the second international break of the season, here's how the army of Arsenal loanees have fared so far during this campaign.
Matteo Guendouzi
Matteo Guendouzi was named Marseille captain for the first time during the defeat to Lille
The controversial French midfielder was in the headlines earlier this week, amid claims that a number of his Marseille teammates were becoming irritated with his attitude.
However, Jorge Sampaoli opted to name him as captain for the first time since his move, during the 2-0 defeat to Lille.
GFFN gave Guendouzi a 4/10 and claimed he was outplayed by his Lille counterpart Benjamin Andre.
Marseille have an option to make the deal a long-term one next summer and the decision to make him captain bodes well.
William Saliba
William Saliba could still have a massive future at Arsenal
Like his compatriot, Saliba is hoping to impress at Marseille after struggling for opportunities in north London.
The central defender has come in for plenty of praise since his move, but was to blame for Lille's opener as Marseille's difficult run continues.
Sampaoli recently described Saliba as "a future great of French football" but that doesn't mean there won't be some growing pains in his development.
Hector Bellerin
After completing an emotional move to his father's team Real Betis, Bellerin has started four out of five LaLiga games for the Spaniards.
In his first three, Betis remained unbeaten, but he made a costly error during their 2-0 defeat to Villarreal on Sunday.
On the stroke of half time, Bellerin's poor first touch fell to the feet of former teammate Francis Coquelin, who in turn found Arnaut Danjuma to open the scoring for the hosts.
Lucas Torreira
Lucas Torreira came off the bench during Fiorentina's defeat to Napoli
The Uruguayan has endured an indifferent start since joining Fiorentina. Torreira has made just three starts and was named as a substitute against Napoli at the weekend.
Before the game, it was reported Napoli were also interested in signing the midfielder, but he had little chance to impress the Serie A giants, playing just 25 minutes in the 2-1 loss.

Reiss Nelson
Arguably the most frustrating of any of Arsenal's summer loanees, Nelson is still yet to make his debut for Feyenoord.
Manager Arne Slot recently suggested he wasn't ready to turn out for the Eredivisie side and is still adjusting to what the Feyenoord boss described as a more intense training schedule.
Slot has claimed Nelson could be in line to come in after the international break, but his situation is a concerning one for Arteta.
Konstantinos Mavropanos
Konstantinos Mavropanos scored his second goal of the season
Stuttgart's season hasn't got off to the best of starts, but Mavropanos played a key role as they won for the first time since the opening day of the season.
Playing at centre-back, the Greek scored the second of three goals for Stuttgart as they beat Hoffenhim 3-1.
Mavropanos now has two goals and an assist and will need to continue his good form, if his side are to face no relegation worries this term.
Runar Alex Runarsson
The Icelandic keeper looks to have no future with Arsenal and OH Leuven have an option to make his loan permanent next summer. However, he has struggled to break into the Belgian side's lineup and is still waiting to make his debut.
Dejan Iliev
Aged 26 and with just one year left on his deal with the Gunners, Iliev will be hoping to secure his future and has started his loan with Slvakian top-flight club Sered in good form.
The 'keeper has conceded just nine goals in as many league games and has already registered three clean sheets. In their most recent game, Sered beat FK Senica 2-1 to move to 11 points from their opening ten games.
The Youngsters...
There are also several youngsters plying their trade away from the Emirates, looking to gain some first-team experience.
However, a number of those players weren't involved last time out, with Miguel Azeez at Portsmouth and Jordi Osei-Tutu with Nottingham Forest both sidelined with injuries.
Young striker Nikolaj Moller, who signed a season-long loan deal with German 3.Liga side Viktoria Koln but has yet to find the net and was once again an unused sub this weekend.
Tyreece John-Jules has been a regular contributor for Blackpool in the Championship, but for the first time this season was left out by Neil Critchley as the Tangerines beat Blackburn 2-1 at Bloomfield Road.
It was better news for centre-back Daniel Ballard, 22, who has played almost every minute of Millwall's Championship campaign and helped the Lions to another clean sheet as they beat Barnsley 1-0 at Oakwell.
Daniel Ballard has been a regular for Millwall
Matt Smith, 20, has been a regular at Doncaster since joining the League One club in the summer.
The midfielder has played in all but two of Rovers' fixtures and came off the bench during their win against MK Dons on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Harry Clarke put in an impressive individual display for Ross County, but it was all in vain as Dundee United ran out 1-0 winners.
Clarke played as a right-back for the Staggies, who have endured a miserable start to the new season, picking up just three points from their first eight games.
Central defender Jonathan Dinzeyi has had to bide his time and wait for opportunities at Carlisle after joining last month.
But after being out of the squad for the first five games of his spell, the 21-year-old has now started the last two games and completed the 2-0 defeat to Forest Green.
Tom Smith's miserable start at Welling United continued, with the 19-year-old shipping three goals to add to the six that went past him last week.
