In recent weeks, the Gunners have seen several high-profile players depart the Emirates Stadium, including the likes of Emile Smith Rowe, Aaron Ramsdale and Eddie Nketiah.
Additionally, Reiss Nelson, Fabio Vieira and Albert Sambi Lokonga were sent out on loan spells to get increased playing time under their belts.
Mikel Arteta's side are said to be going all out to win the Premier League this season after two near-misses and have brought in Riccardo Calafiori to bolster their defensive ranks, adding to the difficulty for younger players to break into the squad.
Rekik leaves Arsenal by mutual agreement
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Rekik is now searching for a new employer after having his contract with the Gunners terminated on Saturday evening.
It is understood that the 22-year-old requested the termination of his contract, making him a free agent and available to sign with any club following the close of the European summer transfer window.
After time in both the Arsenal academy and Manchester City's youth setup, Rekik has predominantly spent his professional career moving from loan spell to loan spell.
Last season, he was loaned out to Wigan Athletic and Servette, but this summer, no clubs were willing to sign him, even on loan.
While Rekik was a regular starter in the Gunners' youth teams, he never featured for the club at the senior level.
Arsenal end summer transfer window with a bang
Arsenal ended the summer with a bang, bringing in Raheem Sterling from Chelsea at the eleventh hour on deadline day, as well as Bournemouth shot-stooper Neto on loan.
The Gunners made David Raya's deal at the Emirates a permanent one before signing Calafiori and Mikel Merino earlier in the summer window, taking their total number of new arrivals to five.
Unfortunately, Merino's much-anticipated debut suffered a significant setback with the Spaniard sustaining an injury to his shoulder in training which has sidelined him for a reported three months.
Arsenal dropped their first points of the season on Saturday when they drew 1-1 with Brighton & Hove Albion after Declan Rice was sent off under five minutes into the second half.
