Arsenal vs Lens: Match facts

Bukayo Saka has assisted three goals in four appearances in the UEFA Champions League this season, providing one in three different matches (v PSV, Lens and Sevilla). No English player has ever assisted more than three goals in a single UEFA Champions League campaign for Arsenal.

Four different outfield players have played every minute for Lens in the UEFA Champions League this season (Facundo Medina, Jonathan Gradit, Salis Abdul Samed and Kevin Danso) - the most outfielders to have not missed a single minute for any team in the competition in 2023-24.

Mikel Arteta has looked back on the Champions League campaign so far for his side.

"I am enjoying it, it's a great feeling," he explained.

"It makes you proud, it makes me feel that this is the level the club should be at, and we've been competing really well, so let's continue to do so.

"For sure. We have to prove (ourselves). We have to come back to Europe being the club we want to be and have that presence and those results that tell you that we are back in a strong way.

"We haven't done that yet, that has to be done."

Arsenal vs Lens: Match facts

Since losing his first European home game in charge of Arsenal in February 2020 (1-2 v Olympiakos in the UEFA Europa League), Gunners boss Mikel Arteta has only suffered one defeat in his last 12 such games at the Emirates Stadium (W8 D3), winning five of the last six (D1).

All nine of Arsenal's goals in the UEFA Champions League this season have been from open play, with only Atlético Madrid and Bayern Munich scoring as often from open play in the first four matchdays (also nine).

Captain Martin Odegaard has also been speaking about having the chance to win Group B this evening.

He said: "It will be huge if we can guarantee winning the group tonight, it basically means we have done our job in Europe until it starts again in February.

"So that's our target, and it's another chance to show our strength at home.

"We love being here, we love these Champions League nights at the Emirates, where we have a great connection.

"We'd love another special atmosphere for the game tonight."

Arsenal vs Lens

If Sevilla hold on it means Arsenal will win Group B with three points tonight.

And Mikel Arteta believes his side can do so against a tough Lens side.

"Yeah, we do want to win the game, that's for sure," he said.

"We want to be top of the group and the opportunity is there for us, against a team that causes problems, and that we've already experienced against them, so we have the right motivation to do that.

"We have to win at home, and we have to win the group if we can. That's the mentality of the team, that's for sure."
