Egypt international Marmoush has scored in each of Wolfsburg's last two home games, helping them to the division's current joint-longest unbeaten run of four matches. Niko Kovac's side have drawn three on the spin since getting their only victory of the season at the Volkswagen Arena, beating VfB Stuttgart 3-2 on Matchday 8. Marmoush has alternated between starting and coming off the bench, but form may put him ahead of Lukas Nmecha in the pecking order up front. Kovac called the younger Nmecha, Felix, "Our best man" in the 2-2 draw with Bayer Leverkusen last time out, so he should continue in midfield. The coach also handed 19-year-old American Kevin Paredes his first senior start for the club in that game after praising his recent development. He could keep his place if Patrick Wimmer hasn't recovered from an ankle problem in time.
Bochum's 4-0 loss to RB Leipzig in Thomas Letsch's first game in charge was the heaviest debut loss for a coach in the club's Bundesliga history. But VfL have since won two out of three league assignments, beating UEFA Europa League holders Eintracht Frankfurt 3-0 and Bundesliga leaders Union Berlin 2-1 last weekend. That result moved them off the foot of the table for the first time since August. Goalkeeper Manuel Riemann made another crucial penalty save that day to secure just a second three points of the campaign. Gerrit Holtmann got what proved the winner and will be hopeful of being promoted to the starting XI this week. Christopher Antwi-Adjei and Jordi Osei-Tutu are the ones at risk if the Philippines international is restored on the wing.
