West Ham are currently sitting in ninth place in the WSL table after winning four, drawing two and losing nine of their 15 league matches this season.

The Hammers were unable to take anything from Sunday's away fixture despite enjoying a two-goal lead on two occasions.

Amber Tysiak netted an early brace before Shekiera Martinez made it 3-1 after Chloe Kelly had pulled a goal back for the Gunners, but West Ham were unable to hold onto their advantage as Arsenal scored three goals in six minutes to condemn the Hammers to a 4-3 defeat.

The result represented a seventh defeat in eight away league games for the Hammers (D1), extending their winless away run to 13 WSL matches

With that in mind, West Ham will be relieved to have home advantage for Wednesday's matchup, especially as they have won four of their previous five home encounters in the WSL (L1).

Man City will travel to the capital for the second time in four days after claiming a narrow victory in Sunday's away meeting with Tottenham.

Vivianne Miedema saw her effort cancelled out by Beth England, before Aoba Fujino restored Man City's lead in the 78th minute to seal a fourth consecutive victory in all competitions.

With two points separating them from third-placed Arsenal, Man City know they can move into the Women's Champions League qualification spots with a win in Wednesday's clash with West Ham.

The Citizens will certainly take great confidence from their recent record against the Hammers, having won their last six WSL meetings, including a 2-0 victory in October's reverse fixture.

They will also be targeting another strong defensive display after keeping clean sheets in each of their previous four top-flight away games against West Ham.

West Ham are unable to call upon long-term absentee Jessica Ziu, who is continuing her rehabilitation from an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

Vivianne Asseyi will serve a one-match suspension after picking up her fifth yellow card of the WSL season in Sunday's defeat to Arsenal.

Skinner is likely to make changes for the midweek fixture, with Katrina Gorry, Manuela Pavi and Riko Ueki all pushing for starting spots.

As for the visitors, they remain without the services of Rebecca Knaak, Alex Greenwood, Risa Shimizu and Lauren Hemp.

Man City boss Gareth Taylor has confirmed that Laura Coombs is ready to return to the squad following a six-game injury absence.

Taylor could freshen up his side due to the busy schedule, with Jill Roord, Jess Park and Mary Fowler among those who could come into the starting lineup.
