The National League outfit have emerged as one of the headline acts in this year's competition having caused shocks in rounds one and two.

After defeating League One promotion candidates Huddersfield Town, Andy Peak's side travelled to fellow Staffordshire club Burton Albion and prevailed on penalties.

In the third-round draw, Tamworth were rewarded with a high-profile showdown at home to Spurs, the meeting with the Premier League giants to be broadcast live on ITV.

Despite being in line to generate extra funds through that avenue, Tamworth's hierarchy have taken the decision to hike the prices for tickets for the visit of Ange Postecoglou's team.

What prices have been set?

The most expensive general ticket has been set at £42 for the main stand, with a standing ticket setting adults back £38.

By comparison, a main-stand ticket for National League fixtures costs £20 or £21 - depending on whether it is purchased online or in the ticket office - and £18 or £19 for the terrace.

Over 66s are required to pay either £16 or £17 for main-stand tickets to watch the fifth tier of English football, but a price-point of £37 has been set for the Spurs contest.

All supporters under the age of 15 pay no more than £9 for league games, yet a standing ticket will set the families of anyone Under-10 back as much as £25.

With the capacity of The Lamb Ground standing at 4,963, a sell-out is expected, and any decision taken may have been advised by police.

Furthermore, there are only 518 seats available, resulting in the vast amount of supporters standing for this fixture.

Nevertheless, Tamworth have naturally received backlash for the decision, comments on X ranging from "short-sighted", "shameful" and "a sensational PR own goal".

Tamworth are yet to address the fan reaction.
