Ange Postecoglou has revealed that as many as three Tottenham Hotspur players picked up knocks in their 1-0 Premier League triumph over Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.

The Lilywhites made it back-to-back wins in the top flight courtesy of a first-half James Maddison goal, rising up to 12th in the top-flight table in the process.

While Ruben Amorim's side travelled to North London with a staggering 12 missing players due to injury and illness, Spurs received several selection boosts for the visit of their depleted opponents.

Maddison was one of five players to return to the matchday squad following injuries, and one of two to make the starting lineup alongside number one goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario.

Brennan Johnson and Wilson Odobert were also given minutes off the bench following their respective calf and hamstring problems, while Destiny Udogie was an unused substitute as he made a matchday squad for the first time in 2025.

Postecoglou plays down triple Tottenham injury concern

None of Kevin Danso, Rodrigo Bentancur or Son Heung-min made it through the entirety of the game, though, and Danso and Bentancur in particular appeared to be worse for wear as they were taken off.

However, speaking to the media in his post-game press conference - as quoted by football.london - Postecoglou insisted that the trio had only suffered knocks and should not miss any imminent fixtures.

"He [Danso] got a knock on his knee. Him, Sonny and Rodri all got sort of knocks. I don't think it is anything significant," the 59-year-old said.

"But the beauty of it now is we can actually get them to recover instead of trying to patch them up and throw them out (onto the pitch) again midweek. I think from what I've heard, knocks all three of them but they should be fine."

Postecoglou also joined an elite group of managers and led Tottenham to a Premier League first in their win over Man United, which comes six days before their next battle away to Ipswich Town on February 22.

When will Tottenham's other injury victims return?

While Danso, Son and Bentancur will seemingly be given the all-clear to travel to Portman Road on Saturday, Tottenham will still be missing at least five players for their next encounter.

The only member of the sextet in with a slight chance of returning for the Ipswich tie is Timo Werner, who is now back in training after a thigh injury but was not risked against Man United.

However, Postecoglou has ruled centre-backs Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero out for another couple of weeks as the pair recuperate from thigh problems; the former briefly returned in the Europa League but has since been held back.

Dominic Solanke (knee) and Richarlison (calf) have also been provisionally pencilled in for comebacks at the beginning of March, but Radu Dragusin has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a crushing ACL injury.

Still, Spurs' fitness situation is nowhere near as debilitating as it previously was, and at a critical time with none other than Manchester City to come on February 26.
