The 30-year-old has played a bit-part role so far in 2024-25 for the Saints, who are currently languishing down in the relegation zone of the Premier League table.
Onuachu made his maiden appearance of the term for Southampton prior to the international break, featuring as a substitute during the loss at Arsenal.
The Nigerian has played just 16 minutes of competitive action for the newly-promoted side this campaign, finding himself at the bottom of Russell Martin's pecking order in attack.
Since joining the South Coast club from Genk in the January transfer window of 2023, Onuachu has featured on just 13 occasions, failing to find the net.
Southampton man Onuachu wanted by Club Brugge?
According to Turkish outlet A Spor, a new horse has entered the race for the signature of Southampton striker Onuachu in the near future.
The report claims that European outfit Club Brugge are keen on securing the services of the goalscoring 30-year-old during the January transfer window.
It is understood that Onuachu's stock in Belgium is still extremely high following his record of 85 goals in 134 competitive appearances whilst at Genk.
With the likes of Ben Brereton Diaz, Cameron Archer and Adam Armstrong all preferred by head coach Martin, it is believed that Southampton are willing to permanently offload the Nigerian in the New Year.
Despite competing in the revamped Champions League this season, Nicky Hayen's Club Brugge have endured a tricky start to the Belgian Pro League campaign, meaning that they sit in fifth place.
Which reunion will Onuachu take?
As well as the Belgian giants, it has been widely reported that Turkish outfit Trabzonspor are working hard to bring Onuachu to the club permanently.
The towering forward spent the 2023-24 campaign on loan at the club, bagging an impressive tally of 15 goals across 21 Turkish Super Lig appearances.
As January approaches, Southampton's Onuachu might need to pick between a reunion with Trabzonspor and a rekindling with the Belgian Pro League as a Club Brugge come knocking.
