Arsenal Sarandi picked up successive wins for just the second time since May 2021 as they edged out Patronato 1-0 away from home last Saturday.

In a cagey affair at the Estadio Presbítero Bartolome Grella, 19-year-old Facundo Kruspzky came up trumps for the visitors as he netted on the stroke of half time to condemn El Patron to their third defeat of the season.

Prior to that, Leonardo Madelon's men picked up their first win of the season when they saw off Estudiantes 2-1 on July 4 after losing one and picking up four draws from their opening five outings.

With 10 points from seven games, Arsenal Sarandi are currently 12th in the Primera Division standings, level on points with 11th-placed San Lorenzo.

Meanwhile, manager Omar De Felippe will be impressed with his side's resilient display as they fought back from one goal down to salvage a 1-1 draw against league leaders Newell's Old Boys last time out.

Having trailed 1-0 courtesy of a 41st-minute own goal from goalkeeper Marcos Ledesma, Platense remained composed in the second period as Juan Cruz Esquivel netted with eight minutes left in the game to force a share of the spoils.

Platense head into the weekend as one of just three sides yet to suffer defeat in the league this season — alongside Newell's Old Boys and Atletico Tucuman — after picking up three wins and four draws from their seven games.

This solid start to the season has been owing to their defensive sturdiness as the Calamares boast one of the best records at the defensive fronts in the league so far with three clean sheets while conceding just four goals.

With 13 points from their opening seven outings, Platense are currently sixth in the league standings but could move top of the pile with all three points this weekend as they sit two points off league leaders Newell's Old Boys.

Kruspzky came off the bench against Patronato last time out and following his game-winning performance the teenager could be rewarded with a place in the starting XI this weekend.

He should be joined at the centre of the park by Dardo Miloc, Mauro Pitton and Julian Navas Granados, while 23-year-old Sebastian Lomonaco should spearhead the attack once again.

On the injury front, Arsenal de Sarandi will make do with the absence of Lucas Brochero, who was hauled off due to a foot problem inside the opening quarter of an hour last weekend.

Platense's injury list is heftier by comparison as De Felippe will be unable to call upon the midfield duo of Gonzalo Bergessio and Hector Canteros, who are recuperating from ankle and calf injuries respectively.

They are joined on the Calamares' injury table by 26-year-old defender Juan Infante, who is set to sit out his third consecutive game after picking up a back problem against Sarmiento in June.
