Premier League TV fixtures release dates from Sky Sports, BT and Amazon Prime

mirror.co.uk, 16 June 2022, 12:13
Dozens of Premier League fixtures will be rescheduled throughout the 2022-23 season due to them being selected for TV coverage by Sky Sports, BT Sport and Amazon Prime

The Premier League fixtures were unveiled on Thursday morning but, as we all know, they're subject to many changes.

TV selections, participation in other competitions - such as the FA Cup and Europa League - and postponements play havoc with the schedule over the course of a season. Covid caused multiple fixtures to be called off last Christmas, for example.

The lucrative broadcasting deals will undoubtedly have the biggest influence on the fixture list. But when will we know about these changes? Here, Mirror Football reveals when Premier League fixtures are likely to be moved for viewers at home to enjoy.

What Premier League fixtures won't be rescheduled?

The opening weekend of fixtures are set in stone - barring unlikely postponements - with the first game of the new campaign between Crystal Palace and Arsenal at Selhurst Park on Friday, August 5 being shown live on Sky Sports.

Fulham's home game against Liverpool on Saturday, August 5 will be broadcast live by BT Sport, while Chelsea's trip to Goodison Park to face Everton the same day will be televised by Sky Sports. The latter broadcaster will also have two live fixtures on Sunday: Manchester United vs Brighton at Old Trafford and West Ham vs Manchester City at the London Stadium.

The fixtures being televised by Amazon Prime have also been confirmed. These will take place on October 18, October 19 and Boxing Day. They are as follows:

October 18

Bournemouth vs Southampton

Arsenal vs Manchester City

Brentford vs Chelsea

Brighton vs Nottingham Forest

Crystal Palace vs Wolves

Fulham vs Aston Villa

Leicester v Leeds

October 19

Liverpool v West Ham

Manchester United v Tottenham

Newcastle vs Everton

Boxing Day

Arsenal v West Ham

Aston Villa v Liverpool

Brentford v Tottenham

Chelsea v Bournemouth

Crystal Palace v Fulham

Everton v Wolves

Leeds v Manchester City

Leicester v Newcastle

Manchester United v Nottingham Forest

Southampton v Brighton

When will Premier League TV fixtures be announced?

What fixture are you looking most forward to? Let us know in the comments below!

The Premier League have confirmed nine provisional dates when fixtures will be moved for TV. We're expecting the earliest announcement to be made on July 5, with several fixtures in August and December being rescheduled for Sky Sports and BT Sport.

The latest any changes will be made is around April 7, when the Premier League are expected to reschedule the penultimate round of fixtures. They do this to ensure games involving title candidates, for example, are televised ahead of mid-table clashes.

The Premier League will not decide when the final round of games will be televised until after the penultimate fixtures are played. This does not effect the schedule, however, as the final 10 fixtures are all played at the same time to ensure the competition remains fair.

The nine provisional dates for fixtures to be moved are as follows:

July 5 - for matches in August and September

July 29 - for matches in October

September 13 - for matches in November

October 11 - for matches in December and January

December 6 - for matches in February

January 25 - for matches in March

March 23 - for Matchday 35

March 30 - for Matchday 36

April 7 - for Matchday 37
