Mikel Arteta's men are currently five points clear of City but have played two games more, drawing their last three matches in the Premier League.
It means that if City win tonight, the gap between them will be shaved down to two points - while also having two games in hand.
Alternatively, Arsenal could beat their rivals and extend their lead to eight points and, crucially, mean the title is back in their hands.

Club captain Odegaard has been a shining light for the Gunners this season but even he looked for advice, turning to Arsenal legend and former skipper Adams.
But if the Norwegian was looking for a deep, philosophical answer on the psychology of a title battle, he might have been left disappointed by Adams' short but sweet reply.
Speaking to The Sun, he said: "When I interviewed Martin Odegaard on Monday, he asked me what advice I'd give to Arsenal for Wednesday's game at Manchester City.

"My answer was two words - 'Don't lose'. If Arsenal can do that, the title race is still open. If not, it's all over."
City have been in jaw-dropping form in recent months and have not dropped points at home since the turn of the year.
They also beat Arsenal in the corresponding fixture at the Emirates in February but ex-Gunners star Kolo Toure believes the pressure is all on them.

"You could see the disappointment the Arsenal players had after the Southampton game, which isn't a great sign," Toure told BBC Radio 5 Live
"For Arsenal right now, they have to look at the season and think, 'No one expected us to be where we are and we are fighting against an unbelievable Manchester City team and we are up there with them'.
"They have to see it as an opportunity now that they can do unbelievable things. They have to grab that and go for it.

"If not, it is okay. They can go back next season so just try to enjoy the moment.
"I know it is difficult to say but that is what they have to do.
"City should be the team that have the pressure."
