Neymar makes World Series of Poker debut in Las Vegas

Neymar continues to surprise the world, with the Brazilian recently taking a big step in what could be his new profession once he brings his footballing career to an end.

The Paris Saint-Germain forward made his first appearance as a poker player at a World Series event held in Las Vegas. Neymar took advantage of an opportunity he was denied of back in 2016, as he sat down at the 10,000 Limit Hold-Em Championship table at the Paris Las Vegas Casino.

The Brazilian star got a place at a World Series of Poker (WSOP) table in 2016 after winning a PokerStars preliminary tournament, but he was unable to take part due to his national team duties at the Olympic Games.

Now, six years later, the 30-year-old returned to the WSOP, aided by the fact the World Cup will take place in Qatar at the end of the year.

How did it go?

Neymar was one of 74 participants present for the first day of the competition. Unfortunately for him, he failed to make it on to the second day of action.

Never one to shy away from a challenge, Neymar made some risky moves, but in the end, ran out of chips. Now his focus will be on his recovery, as he looks to return from metatarsal surgery, ahead of the 2022/23 season with PSG.
