Victor Osimhen's second half equaliser against Udinese in a 1-1 away draw was enough to clinch the side's third-ever league title, and their first outside of the Diego Maradona era.

Despite doing the job away from home, the Dacia Arena in Udine saw the stands packed with sky blue shirts, and when the full-time whistle blew, they all spilled onto the pitch.
Meanwhile back home there was utter bedlam, as the streets erupted.
As did the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, which was sold out at full capacity and filled with flares and smoke bombs as glory was finally realised.
A constant feature of the tributes was Maradona himself as tattoos and flags filled up camera lenses across the city.

Meanwhile, Live Is Life played at his namesake stadium, as supporters remembered the great as they returned to the top for the first time since he took them there.
Fireworks hit the skies around the bay in Naples triggering celebrations that carried on through the night.

However, on the pitch there were some slightly distressing scenes as fans who spilled onto the turf appeared to be attempting to take players' clothes.
Leo Skiri Ostigard looked distressed as his shirt was being pulled up his chest, while fans were seen tugging at Piotr Zielinski's shorts, and he later emerged in his pants.

But in Napoli, it was sheer joy at full-time as owner Aurelio De Laurentiis entered the pitch with a microphone.
"We have to win this Scudetto again, win it again and win it again and then the Champions League," he said.

"The project never stops, this is a starting point, not an arrival point, it starts again with Spalletti.
"Thank you. You've always told me, we want to win and we've all won together."
Not everyone was happy though, with Juventus trolling Napoli for never celebrating their success.

As congratulations rained in from their rivals, Napoli instead got a slightly sarcastic message from Juve, who tweeted: "Given the many compliments received over the years we couldn't help ourselves.
"Congratulations to @sscnapoli for winning their third Scudetto!"

Speaking to DAZN post-match, an emotional Luaciano Spalletti said of his first Serie A title: "There are people here who will be able to get through difficult moments in their lives because they remember this moment. These people deserve all the joy.
"It perhaps makes me feel more relaxed now, we've been able to give them that joy.
"These fans have seen huge coaches come and go. They saw Diego Armando Maradona play and perhaps his protection is also felt in this success. So it becomes difficult then to tell them, yes we finished third last season and were challenging for the title.

"I hear coaches say this is only our third season together, but the pressure is on to win. Our primary objective was to maintain a Champions League place.
"Some protested against the team last summer and I did not like that.
"When I said we had to challenge for the Scudetto, people complained and felt I had got ahead of myself or crossed a line.

"But what I said was to bring the maximum out of these players and also to build a mentality to carry on.
"This season is like the second half, last season was also splendid and we never had our objective in doubt.
"Benitez, Ancelotti, Sarri with the best football in Italy, Gattuso who won the Coppa Italia have been through, so what am I coming here for?
"It's not like I can say we want to avoid relegation. We have to win."
