Musonda reappears in MARCA: I'm fine, people talk without knowing the truth

Former Real Betis player Charly Musonda has broken his silence after an unusual set of events in his career.

He had been reported missing by Belgian side Zulte Waregem, the club with whom he was training and with whom it seemed he was going to sign after leaving Chelsea.

"We don't know anything about him. I don't know if we should still trust him because he hasn't been here since training a few weeks ago and there has been no contact. Will he ever come back? We have no idea," said Eddy Cordier, Zulte's general manager.

However, MARCA has contacted Musonda, who assures us that the situation is not as explained.

"I'm fine. Over the years I've come to understand that people talk a lot without knowing the truth, but that's not my problem," he told MARCA.

The former Chelsea, Betis, Celtic and Vitesse player has endured a long period of injuries in recent years, but he is not giving up.

Musonda is clear that his intentions are to get back on the pitch.

"I love football, I've always loved it, I always will love it," he said.

"I've trained for four years - three of them alone - without playing, dreaming that one day I will not only play, but that I will get back to the top."

Musonda, who was signed by Chelsea ahead of other European giants, is sure to find a new destination this summer.

"Very soon I will be back on the pitch doing what I love. Little by little I will build my way back to the top and maybe it will be in Spain. Let the people speak, the transfer window closes on August 31."

At just 25 years old, the Belgian is confident of returning to the top: "I still have 10 years of football left, two to prepare and eight to reach the top."
