It was quite the weekend for Manchester United.
Saturday saw the Red Devils suffer a brutal hammering at the hands of Watford.
It was a performance that was lambasted by fans and pundits and eventually proved to be the last straw for under-fire boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
On Sunday morning the Norwegian was dismissed of his duties before giving an emotional farewell interview.
Whilst the current playing squad are feeling the heat, how about those away from the club? Solskjaer sent a total of 14 players out on loan this season, with a large batch heading to the EFL.
Here, we look at how those players got on over the weekend for their respective temporary employers.
Which of these youngsters will be in the best place to push for the United first team? Let us know in the comments section
Ethan Laird
The 20-year-old played the full 90 minutes as Swansea drew 1-1 at home to Blackpool in the Championship.
Laird showed glimpses of his talents and was perhaps unlucky not to get a penalty following one incident where it looked as though he was fouled inside the area.
Having started seven games on the spin he's now becoming a regular in the Swans' starting line-up.
James Garner
Garner is in his second loan spell at Nottingham Forest but is struggling to make the same kind of impact this time around.
Saturday saw the youngster come off the bench for a 16-minute cameo in a 1-1 draw away at Reading.
Despite not being on the pitch for long he showed some tidy touches and set up a chance for teammate Lewis Grabban.
Garner will nevertheless be frustrated at having started just one of the last five league outings.
Di'Shon Bernard
Bernard has improved as his loan spell at Hull City has gone on. Saturday saw him play the full 90 minutes in a 2-0 win over Birmingham.
The 21-year-old played a huge role in helping the Tigers clinch another clean sheet as they moved out of the relegation zone.
But he was booked against the Blues and his fifth caution of the campaign means he will be forced to sit out Hull's trip to Cardiff on Wednesday.
Players who accumulate five yellow cards before the 19-game mark are subject to a one-game ban.
Ethan Galbraith
The youngster has impressed so far on loan at League One Doncaster.
The weekend saw him again play the full 90 minutes in a tepid 0-0 draw with Lincoln. Despite chances being thin on the ground, Galbraith always looked a class act and was setting the tempo from deep in midfield.
The tenacious youngster is clearly enjoying his maiden taste of regular first-team football.
Nathan Bishop
The 22-year-old played the full 90 minutes as Mansfield beat League Two's bottom club Scunthorpe 3-1 on Saturday.
It didn't start great for the United loanee however. A quarter of an hour into the game Bishop rushed out to meet Myles Hippolyte only to bring him down inside the box. The Scunthorpe man then sent Bishop the wrong way to make it 1-0.
But Nigel Clough's side bounced back in style and hit three unanswered goals for a fifth victory on the bounce.
D'Mani Mellor
The strange absence of Mellor within Salford City's matchday squad continued at the weekend.
The 21-year-old has featured just once for the Ammies since arriving on loan - and that was back in August.
Not since an away game at Tranmere, where he was an unused sub, has he been in a matchday squad. It is unclear whether he is out injured or his lack of involvement is a selection preference.
Incidentally, Salford beat Harrogate 2-0 on Saturday.
