The Maroons, who have picked up four points from their opening two UCL matches in the league phase, ended a two-game losing streak in the Czech First League by beating Liberec 2-1 last weekend.
Lukas Haraslin came off the substitutes' bench to net a 79th-minute winner in that match and the attacker is expected to return to the first XI on Wednesday at the expense of either Ermal Krasniqi or Indrit Tuci.
Haraslin has scored a team-high six goals along with Veljko Birmancevic and Victor Olatunji so far this season and the latter two are also in contention to start in the final third, although Olatunji is set to battle with Albion Rrahmani for the centre-forward spot.
Tomas Wiesner was also on the scoresheet last weekend and may retain his place at right wing-back, or move over to the left flank if Angelo Preciado is recalled, while Kaan Kairinen is set to be joined in centre-midfield by Qazim Laci.
Martin Vitik served a domestic suspension last time out, but he is available to return against Man City and could replace Asger Sorensen in central defence, joining Filip Panak and Jaroslav Zeleny in a back three.
Sparta Prague possible starting lineup: Vindahl; Vitik, Panak, Zeleny; Preciado, Kairinen, Laci, Wiesner; Birmancevic, Rrahmani, Haraslin
