Mac Allister scores 99th minute penalty to boost Brighton's European hopes

Brighton took a huge step towards European football with a stoppage-time penalty from Alexis Mac Allister.

Manchester United defender Luke Shaw was adjudged to have handled in the box late on in the clash after a VAR check.

With the score at 0-0, Brighton knew a goal would give them a crucial three points in their quest to finish in the top seven.

Mac Allister stepped up to the plate for the Seagulls and fired a superb effort into the roof of the net.

The victory has seen them jump from eighth to sixth in the table, while they have two games in hand over Liverpool in fifth.
