After beating Atalanta BC in the UEFA Super Cup, Los Blancos have gone to take four points from their first two league games, drawing 1-1 against Mallorca before dispatching Real Valladolid for a 3-0 scoreline.
Meanwhile, Las Palmas are searching for their first win of the campaign after following a draw against Real Betis with a narrow defeat in Sunday's clash with Leganes.
Here, Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at the head-to-head record and previous meetings between the two sides.
Head-to-head record
Previous meetings: 74
Las Palmas wins: 8
Draws: 15
Real Madrid wins: 51
Real Madrid tend to fare well when they go toe-to-toe with Las Palmas, having won 51 of their 74 matches against the team from Gran Canaria, highlighting the tough test that awaits Luis Carrion's side on Thursday.
The two sides went over five years without a head-to-head meeting before they recommenced battle at the Santiago Bernabeu in September last year.
On that occasion, Carlo Ancelotti's charges recorded a 2-0 victory thanks to goals from Brahim Diaz and Joselu.
Another victory followed in January's reverse fixture as Javi Munoz saw his opener cancelled out by Vinicius Junior before Aurelien Tchouameni netted an 84th-minute winner.
Those two results have helped Real Madrid put together a four-game winning run against Las Palmas, while they have managed to avoid defeat in each of their previous nine head-to-head encounters.
Real Madrid have racked up 27 goals across that nine-game unbeaten run, including a seven-goal haul in a dominant win in February 2002 when Fernando Morientes grabbed five for himself.
In fact, the reigning Spanish champions have not failed to register a goal against Las Palmas since suffering a 1-0 away defeat in March 1982.
From Las Palmas' perspective, they have not taken a point off Real Since since drawing 3-3 at the Santiago Bernabeu in March 2017 - a game where they appeared to be on course for a surprise win until Cristiano Ronaldo netted a late brace.
Meanwhile, their most recent head-to-head win took place in October 2001 when they recorded a 4-2 home victory in a game where Real Madrid were reduced to 10 men following Pedro Munitis's 54th red card.
Ruben Castro made full use of the numerical advantage, scoring in the 75th and 93rd minute to end Las Palmas' 15-year wait for a win over Real Madrid.
Los Amarillos will find it difficult to claim all three points in Thursday's contest, but they may fancy their chances of troubling the scorers, having found the net in four of their last five home meetings.
