The Real Madrid legend presented popstar Shakira with two Latin Grammy Awards on Friday night.

On the surface, this is normal news, but there is so much vital context.

Shakira and Barcelona icon Gerard Pique were involved in an acrimonious split last summer following an 11-year relationship.

While Ramos and Pique were teammates at international level with Spain, the two centre-backs were fierce El Clasico rivals for more than a decade.

Incredibly, one of the awards Ramos gave Shakira was honouring a song widely considered a 'diss-track' towards Pique.

It was one of three awards the Colombian singer collected on the night and she was pictured alongside Sevilla defender Ramos after the event in Spain.

Shakira even alluded to her difficult split with Pique, who is now with Clara Chia Marti after allegations of an affair.

"I also want to share this with my Spanish public," she said.
