Lee Carsley handed over the reins to Thomas Tuchel after overseeing a history-setting win over the country he represented as a player.
The Three Lions officially sealed passage to League A, and crucially, have spared Tuchel from navigating a potential March playoff.
England capitalised on the Republic of Ireland receiving a red card early in the second-half to win their third straight match against their old rivals for the first time ever.
Three goals from Harry Kane, Anthony Gordon, and Conor Gallagher inside six minutes put the hosts in complete control.
Substitutes Jarrod Bowen, and Taylor Harwood-Bellis then both got onto the scoresheet to ensure England had four different players open their international account for the first time since October 1930.

Carsley says goodbye
England interim boss Lee Carsley said he wanted the Three Lions team to be exciting in his final interview in charge.
He told ITV Sport: "It was a good performance. I thought the way we started the game was good and we played with real intensity. It was frustrating to come off 0-0 at half-time but I had the belief that we would score the goals.
"It was a great evening for a lot of players and the main thing was getting promotion. That was the main thing we said we wanted to do so that was pleasing."
Asked what his overriding feeling was at the end of his spell in his charge, Carsley said "relief" and added: "I wanted the England team to be exciting to watch and be attacking. I see them day in day out on the training ground and now we've seen it.
"I can only do what I was in control of. It's not a gamble with some of these players, they are excellent players, they want to overcome anything in front of them and at the under-21s they have had an expectation of winning.
"It [his spell in charge] has given myself and the staff the confidence that we can do the job. You always doubt whether you can do the job, and there's a lot of people in their homes picking the squad and picking the team.
"The trust from my bosses has been a massive boost of confidence."

Bullingham also pays tribute to Carsley
FA CEO Mark Bullingham on Lee Carsley's interim spell: "I would like to thank Lee Carsley and his coaching team for their hard work and results in the last six games.
"Lee has achieved the main objective from the six fixtures this autumn: securing promotion back to the top tier of the Nations League.
"He has selected some exciting new players and will be providing Thomas Tuchel and Anthony Barry with a very detailed handover as they start work on our qualifying campaign for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
"The players have really enjoyed working with Lee and his team - they have made a real impact in their interim roles. Lee will now return to the Under-21s and will continue to play a vital role supporting the seniors by developing England's best young players.
"His leadership and coaching gives us the best possible chance of back-to-back U21 EURO wins next summer, and he will continue to play a big part in elite football development across the FA."

Kane hails 'top drawer' Carsley
Harry Kane has scored 28 goals in 36 appearances for England at Wembley, extending his record as top scorer at the venue for the Three Lions.
The Republic of Ireland were the 32nd different opponent Kane has scored against for England; the most of any player.
The Bayern Munich striker has been giving his post-match thoughts to ITV at full-time as the Lee Carsley era officially comes to a close.
Kane to ITV Sport: "A really important win for us. It has been a really good camp and two tough games. We got the job done in Greece and again here. It was a tough first half but we came out with more energy and we finished it off.
On whether his pass for the penalty was one of his best: "I think so. I think it was probably one of the best. I expected Jude [Bellingham] to go and score but in the end, it probably worked out best with them getting the man sent off and obviously finishing the penalty."
On England's four new goal scorers: "Yeah, amazing. We spoke a lot in the week about opportunities for new lads, opportunities for lads who have been here and not quite got the minutes and they showed out there why they're here. A couple of great finishes.
"It was nice for Jarrod [Bowen] too to come on and score straight away so that worked pretty well as well."
"We've had a lot of ups, one big down. It's been a fantastic year, and there's another one next year to qualify for the World Cup."
On Tuchel: "Thomas [Tuchel] has a lot of players to choose from. A lot of young players who have come in and done well and some more experienced players who are injured and will be looking to come back and fight for their place as well. So there's a good balance. I'm sure he [Tuchel] will be looking at everyone, and come March, hopefully, the lads will be ready."
On Carsley's impact as interim boss: "He has been top drawer, him and all the staff. It's never easy after a European Championship to come and go again, especially when you come and play the Nations League - sometimes the motivation is a little bit less.
"But I think the boys showed and they showed a great energy, and they've bled through some of the younger lads as well.
"Some lads who maybe wouldn't have got an opportunity if it wasn't for him. I'm really glad that we won today and we can finish off happy."

'Penalty a little bit soft' - Collins
Republic of Ireland captain Nathan Collins, speaking to RTE: "First of all, it's probably an apology from all the lads for that second half.
"That's nowhere near the standard we should be. Obviously circumstances changed things but we know as a group we're a lot better than, that's not on and we need to do a lot better than that."
On the penalty and Liam Scales' second yellow card: "I'd need to see it back again, I did think it was a little bit soft if I'm honest.
"Yeah, he [the referee] did like his yellow card but it doesn't take away from the fact that we weren't good enough in the second half."
