Cristiano Ronaldo reaches impressive Al Nassr milestone during win

The former Manchester United, Juventus and Real Madrid star scored a brace in the Saudi Pro League to make it over 100 goal contributions since he made the move to the Middle East.

It brings Ronaldo's total to 83 goals and 18 assists for Al Nassr since he joined in 2023 following a turbulent end to his time at Manchester United.

The 39-year-old scored twice to send them third in the league table.

Al Khaleej went down to ten men over half an hour into play when Saeed Al Hamsal's yellow card was overturned by VAR.

The visiting side were held to a goalless first half until Ronaldo's 65th minute goal.

Kostas Fortounis scored from the spot for Al Khaleej to make it 1-1 and then Sultan Al Ghannam restored Al Nassr's lead just a minute later.

Ronaldo's second goal of the game arrived late in stoppage time to secure his 101st goal contribution for the side.

For club and country he sits on an incredible 919 goals, just 81 goals away from 1,000 career goals, an achievement which has never been done before in football.

Reigning Saudi champions Al Hilal are currently top the table on 43 points, whilst Al Ittihad are in second on 40 points, though they have a game in hand.

Ronaldo's brace also leapfrogged Al Hilal's Aleksandar Mitrovic in the chase for the Golden Boot this season, taking him to 13 league goals so far this campaign.

Ronaldo made the move to Al Nassr in 2023 on a contract until 2025, penning a deal which gave him the highest football salary ever, at €200million per year - including sponsorship deals.

talkSPORT understands Al Nassr are confident Ronaldo will sign a new deal which would extend his stay by a further year.

The contract would also see him take up a role as an ambassador for the 2034 World Cup in Saudi Arabia on a nine-year deal.

Al Nassr next face Al Fateh on Sunday in their next league match.
