Chelsea fans complain on social media amid bizarre starting XI vs Brentford

Brentford, who are above them in 10th, claimed a 4-1 victory at Stamford Bridge last season.

Interim boss Frank Lampard has named his starting line-up for the west London derby, but many fans have been left unimpressed.

Raheem Sterling is the only recognised attacker who starts for the Blues, with Conor Gallagher potentially joining him up front.

"Absolutely disgraceful team," said one Chelsea fan before adding: "Nothing to play for. Kepa over Mendy. Ziyech, Pulisic, Auba & Felix all in the squad over Chukwuemeka."

Another said: "That is the worst Chelsea team I've ever seen not even joking."

A third fan is already calling for Mauricio Pochettino's arrival as they said: "Horrendous, Madueke, Mudryk, Badashile should all be playing. Wish the season would end and Poch can be here."
