Blackburn Rovers have aimed a cheeky dig at Wrexham after drawing them in the FA Cup fourth round.

The Championship side will host the Welsh club at Ewood Park in the next round of the competition, meaning that they'll get their chance to feature on a globally-renowned documentary.

Wrexham are one of the world's most famous football teams following the takeover of global superstars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

Their docuseries, 'Welcome To Wrexham' has aired on Disney Plus for two series, while also being renewed for a third. However, the show's creators got their fair share of stick for a glaring geographical error.

In one episode, executive director Humphrey Kerr was explaining how the FA Cup works to set the scene for Wrexham's dramatic exit to Sheffield United last season.

But with Everton and Rochdale in Wales, Swansea and Cardiff in Devon and Brentford located near Blyth Spartans in Northumberland - hundreds of miles away from local rivals QPR who happen to be on the Welsh border - it was clear that something had gone wrong.

This wasn't lost on Blackburn's social media team following the FA Cup fourth round draw, who decided to have a little bit of fun of their own.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, they wrote: "See you seen Wrexham AFC.

"Let us know if you need directions?"

Given that Wrexham's documentary makers think that Blackburn is north of Barrow in north Cumbria, it may well be the case that directions will be helpful.

The clash between Blackburn and Wrexham will take place over the weekend of January 27-28.
