Maksim Medvedev

Maksim Medvedev (born 29 September 1989) is an Azerbaijani footballer, who currently plays for and captains both Qarabag FK and Azerbaijan national football team.

Medvedev has spent his entire career at Qarabag since becoming a professional player in 2006 and is the most capped player in the history of the club. He has won the Azerbaijan Premier League 7 times and Azerbaijan Cup 4 times. Medvedev made his debut for the Azerbaijani national team in 2009 at the age of 19 and is the seventh most capped player in the history of the national team. He plays primarily as a right-back defender, but can also be utilized as a left-back or centre-back.

Born in Baku, Azerbaijan SSR (in present-day - Azerbaijan), Medvedev was a product of the Qarabag FK youth system, by becoming one of the talented players in country.
