Antoine Griezmann (French pronunciation: [ɑ̃twan ɡʁijɛzman]; born 21 March 1991) is a French professional footballer who plays as a forward for La Liga club Barcelona and the France national team. He is a versatile player, known for attacking, passing and also supportive defence. He can play as an attacking midfielder and forward.
Griezmann began his senior club career playing for Real Sociedad, and won the Segunda Division title in his first season. In 2014, Griezmann moved to Atletico Madrid for a then-club record €30 million, where he won the UEFA Europa League, the UEFA Super Cup, the Supercopa de Espana, and La Liga Best Player. He was nominated for both the Ballon d'Or and Best FIFA Men's Player in 2016 and 2018, and also ranks as the club's fifth-highest all-time top goalscorer. In 2019, Griezmann was the subject of a record association football transfer when signed for rivals Barcelona in a transfer worth €120 million, becoming the fifth-most expensive player of all time.
