Leicestervs.Fulham

sportsmole.co.uk, 17 January 2025, 00:10
Leicester City will endeavour to boost their Premier League survival hopes when they welcome Fulham to the King Power Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Ruud van Nistelrooy's side have suffered defeat in each of their last six league games, most recently losing 2-0 at home to Crystal Palace on Wednesday, and they sit 19th in the table, two points adrift of safety.

Fulham, meanwhile, saw their nine-game unbeaten run in all competitions ended by West Ham United on Tuesday, losing 3-2 at the London Stadium, and Marco Silva's men currently sit 10th in the table, only five points behind the top seven.

Here, Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at the head-to-head record and previous meetings between the two sides.

Head-to-head record

Previous meetings: 89

Leicester wins: 29

Draws: 17

Fulham wins: 43

Leicester City and Fulham have faced each other a total of 89 times across all competitions, with the Cottagers comfortably leading the head-to-head record having posted 43 wins to the Foxes' 19, while there have also been 17 draws between these two teams.

The very first meeting between these two sides took place back in December 1907 when Fulham won 3-2 away from home in the old Division Two. In fact, the Cottagers won seven of their first eight meetings with Leicester and scored at least two goals in all of them.

Leicester and Fulham played each other regularly in the old Division Two and then the old Division One between the early 1910s and early 1980s, with the Cottagers winning 32 and drawing 11 of their 65 league encounters during that period.

In the Premier League era (since 1992-93), Leicester and Fulham have only butted heads 11 times in the top flight and a further four times in domestic cup competitions, with the Foxes coming out on top on only three occasions.

Leicester failed to win any of their first five Premier League meetings with Fulham (D3 L2) before securing a 3-1 home victory in March 2019. Since then, the Cottagers have won four of their last five top-flight encounters, including each of their last three.

Fulham won 5-3 at home to Leicester in May 2023 - one of five matches when they have scored five goals against the Foxes - while their most recent win in this fixture was a 2-1 home success in August 2024.
