Marco Silva's side - who boast the likes of Reiss Nelson, Bernd Leno, Emile Smith Rowe and Alex Iwobi in their ranks - sank Brighton & Hove Albion 3-1 in midweek to remain firmly in European contention, sitting pretty in sixth place in the Premier League table.

Three places and six points better off than their hosts this weekend, Arsenal harnessed their set-piece mastery to see off Manchester United 2-0 on Wednesday evening, cutting the deficit to leaders Liverpool down to seven points as they marched to their fourth win on the spin.

Familiar foes in the 1950s and 1960s and then again in the 21st century, Arsenal and Fulham have collided in 63 competitive matches throughout history, beginning with a 1904 FA Cup tie won 3-2 by the Gunners.

That success is one of 42 that the three-time Premier League champions have achieved in this head-to-head, while the Cottagers have only managed a paltry nine wins against the Gunners, and 12 of their contests have ended honours even.

However, Fulham navigated the 2023-24 season without suffering defeat in either of their Premier League meetings with Arsenal, whom they conquered 2-1 at Craven Cottage on New Year's Eve for the most recent of their nine triumphs.

That well-earned win for Marco Silva's crop came just a few months after they had held Arsenal to a 2-2 stalemate at the Emirates and also ended an 11-match streak without victory in this fixture; Fulham previously had to go back to January 2012 for their most recent success.

All nine of Fulham's victories in this showdown have been achieved at Craven Cottage, though, as they have never rocked up to Arsenal's turf and left with all three points, whether it be at Highbury or the Emirates.

Even though the Gunners were deservedly conquered by the Cottagers on New Year's Eve 2023, Bukayo Saka's opening goal on that day means that they have scored in each of their last 18 matches against Fulham stretching back to a goalless draw in February 2009.

However, should Silva mastermind another win over Arsenal in Sunday's derby, it will mark the first time in Fulham's history that they have beaten the Gunners in back-to-back league games and successive home matches in the top flight.

Former Arsenal forward Joe Baker tops the individual goalscoring column with four goals in this battle, while Alexandre Lacazette, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Emmanuel Adebayor netted three each for the Gunners against Fulham.
