Brazil2 - 1Colombia

Brazil doctor Rodrigo Lasmar has revealed that Alisson Becker will be monitored over the next few days after the goalkeeper was forced off with a head injury during Thursday's 2026 World Cup qualification clash with Colombia.

The Liverpool stopper collided heads with ex-Tottenham Hotspur defender Davidson Sanchez in the latter stages of the contest, which led to him being removed from the match, with Bento featuring between the sticks for the final 12 minutes.

Lasmar has ruled out any serious issue for the 32-year-old, but it is unclear at this stage whether he will be available for the team's vital World Cup qualification clash with Argentina next week.

"Alisson suffered a head injury and was replaced due to a suspected concussion," Lasmar told reporters after the match.

"We will now follow the CBF protocol, and he will undergo the recommended imaging tests, a CT scan and then a diffusion MRI. If all the tests are normal, we will proceed and perform a cognitive test. Then we will evaluate the player.

Lasmar says Alisson will be monitored after head injury

"If everything is normal, we will continue to monitor the situation over the next few days. Today, we will do the tests and all the necessary assessments. Alisson is normal, without any complaints.

"He did not report any fainting or memory loss. He thought he was a little slower. With this complaint, the recommended replacement is the player."

Liverpool will be sweating over their number one goalkeeper's fitness ahead of their return to action on April 2, with Everton visiting Anfield for the latest instalment of the Merseyside derby.

The Reds were knocked out of the Champions League by Paris Saint-Germain earlier this month, so the team now only have the Premier League to focus on in the remainder of the season.

Arne Slot's side are top of the Premier League table, 12 points clear of second-placed Arsenal, meaning that only a huge collapse would see them fail to win the title at this stage of proceedings.

What's the latest on Gravenberch, Konate?

Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate was substituted at the interval of France's 2-0 defeat to Croatia in the first leg of their UEFA Nations League quarter-final on Thursday night.

However, despite reports suggesting that an injury had been picked up, France head coach Didier Deschamps revealed that it was a tactical change due to the centre-back's struggles in the match.

"I know it's tough, but I saw him struggling, not at his best, so I preferred to substitute him," Deschamps told reporters.

Ryan Gravenberch, though, pulled out of the Netherlands squad ahead of their Nations League quarter-final first leg against Spain, and the midfielder has returned to Liverpool for treatment.

"Ryan Gravenberch has left the Oranje's training camp this evening. The midfielder is still suffering from an injury sustained over the weekend that prevents him from playing in the matches against Spain," read a statement from Netherlands earlier this week.

At this stage, it is unclear whether the issue could rule him out of Liverpool's next match against Everton.
