Yukhym Konoplya

Yukhym Konoplya (Ukrainian: Юхим Дмитрович Конопля; born 26 August 1999) is a professional Ukrainian football defender who plays for Shakhtar Donetsk in the Ukrainian Premier League.

International Career

Konoplya was a part of the Ukraine national under-20 football team that won the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup. He played one of the key roles in Ukraine's success, appearing in 6 from all 7 of his team's matches and made a four-goal assists. He was included in the team of Ukraine U21 where he played 5 games and he won the Valeriy Lobanovskyi Memorial Tournament in 2019 On 8 of September 2020 he scored a goal for the winning victory away against Finland U21 for the 2021 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualification Group 8. He has been called for the Ukraine national football team, for friendly match against France and UEFA Nations League matches against Germany and Spain on 7, 10 and 13 October 2020 respectively, becoming the first player of Desna Chernihiv called in the main team. On 7 October 2020 he made his debut against France at the Stade de France in the friendly match. On 14 November 2020, he played against Germany for UEFA Nations League for the qualification of 2020–21 UEFA Nations League A at Red Bull Arena in Leipzig.
