Michael Owen and Rio Ferdinand failed to see eye to eye when it came to a debate over Liverpool 's greatest modern day striker.
On the day that one of the club's greatest ever marksmen, Roger Hunt, passed away, Salah carried on his tradition with yet another brace.
The Egyptian netted twice as the Reds thrashed FC Porto 5-1 to take control of their Champions League group
Salah scored either side of half time, to bring his tally for the new season up to eight goals in as many games.
Following the victory at the Estadio Dragao, Ferdinand and former Liverpool striker Owen were asked if they could have current day Salah or prime Luis Suarez for one season, who they would pick.

Ferdinand, who won six Premier League titles with Manchester United, claimed Salah's impact in successful seasons gave him the edge.
"I'd take Mo Salah, I think what he's done in the last four seasons, he's the top scorer again for Liverpool this season, I think he's immense," Ferdinand told BT Sport.
"The icing on the cake is he's an integral part of a team who's won big trophies, the Premier League, the Champions League, he's a joy to watch an assassin in and around the box.
"Yes Suarez had a fantastic season, but for what Mo Salah has done, I can't look past him in the modern era, in terms of winning the league in a Liverpool shirt."
However, Owen suggested that Suarez's 2013/14 season at Anfield, where he scored 31 times and registered 17 assists, was the best of any in the club's recent history.
He said: "The season Luis Suarez played under Brendan Rodgers...I've never seen anything like it in my life, as a one-off season, he was unbelievable."
Ferdinand replied that the most important factor was which players drove their team to titles, something which Suarez failed to do during his time in England.

"But he [Suarez] was doing that, they were a slip away," Owen said of that campaign. "He was at the sharp end of the game.
"Just because you win the league, we've played with players who have six or seven medals in their pocket - they're not a patch on Steven Gerrard or Luis Suarez.
"We're splitting hairs in terms of how good the players are," he continued. "As a one-off season, obviously he's been doing it for four years now Mo Salah, we're talking about one of the greatest players in the world.

"But your question was in a one-off season. That one that Suarez or any of the four that Mo Salah has had...there's no comparison."
Ferdinand added that he felt Salah had everything, something else which Owen disputed.
"I can actually," he said when asked if he could name something Salah could improve on. "I don't think he's a scorer of a load of types of goals.
"I don't think he's great when crosses come in, he's not good at getting on the end of them with headers."
