Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo could be offered the chance of a sensational return to Juventus after his agent Jorge Mendes reportedly offered the Portuguese back to the Italian giants.
The former Real Madrid forward only departed the Juventus Stadium last summer as he made an emotional return to Old Trafford. Despite a successful season from a personal point of view - Ronaldo having found the net on 24 occasions throughout the campaign - the Red Devils endured a thoroughly miserable time of things.
They could only stumble to a sixth-placed finish under the tutelage of Ralf Rangnick with the season being their worst in Premier League history from a points perspective. In the meantime, the forward himself has worries over the club's lack of transfer business and could be set to pursue an exit should the situation fail to improve.
According to Sport, Mendes has submitted a proposal to Juventus regarding the prospect of the 37-year-old returning to Turin. As per the reports, that is not a move that Juventus have totally ruled out although there is some doubt over whether they would be able to complete a deal.
It is suggested that Ronaldo would have to lower his wage demands significantly in order to re-sign for the club. Should he do that, then he would likely become the second Red Devil to sign for Juventus this summer with midfielder Paul Pogba also on the verge of a switch back to his former club after his contract at Old Trafford expired.
Ronaldo of course represented the Italian club for three seasons following his shock exit from Real Madrid on 2018. He made 134 appearances for the Serie A giants, scoring 101 goals and won two league titles as well as two Coppa Italias.

Upon leaving the club last summer, he said: "Today I depart from an amazing club, the biggest in Italy and surely one of the biggest in all of Europe. I gave my heart and soul for Juventus and I'll always love the city of Turin until my final days.
"The 'tiffosi bianconeri' always respected me and I tried to thank that respect by fighting for them in every game, every season, every competition. In the end, we can all look back and realize that we achieved great things, not all that we wanted, but still, we wrote a pretty beautiful story together.
"I will always be one of you. You are now part of my history, as I feel that I'm part of yours. Italy, Juve, Turin, tiffosi bianconeri, you'll always be in my heart.'
It appears that Juventus boss Max Allegri also has other ideas regarding his side's transfer business this summer though. It is further detailed that the Italian has personally requested a swoop for Brazilian winger Neymar amid doubts over his long-term future at Paris Saint-Germain.
Like Ronaldo though, any switch to Juventus would be an expensive one with the former Barcelona star's wages proving a stumbling block.
