Cristiano Ronaldo Champions League shirt swap story sums up Man Utd superstar

Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo 's generous side has been highlighted again, with it being revealed that he went out of his way to provide an opposing player two shirts following a mid-match agreement.

The Portuguese forward - now at the age of 37 - has consistently given throughout his lengthy career having been involved with a number of charitable causes both in his homeland and slightly further afield. However, a newly-unearthed story has revealed how he also goes out of his way to extend that outlook on the pitch.

Former Malmo midfielder Enoch Adu Kofi has recently detailed how Ronaldo ensured he received two of his shirts after a clash between his side and Spanish giants Real Madrid following a mid-game agreement. Speaking to Angel TV, he said: "At Malmo, we played Real Madrid in the Champions League.

"A player was down injured so I approached Ronaldo and asked for his jersey but after the game I didn't see him again. I was in the dressing room, he came to look for me and gave me two jerseys."

The shirts would likely have been only a consolation for Kofi and his Malmo teammates having twice been on the sharp end of Ronaldo's goalscoring instincts during the two sides' Champions league clashes during 2015/16 campaign. Los Blancos won the first meeting 2-0 in Sweden - the Portuguese superstar hitting both goals.

They then followed that up in emphatic style back at the Santiago Bernabeu with an 8-0 thumping. Ronaldo managed to get himself on the scoresheet on four separate occasions during that match.

He eventually went on to score an astounding 16 goals in the competition that term, helping Real to the title - the third of his career. Ronaldo added a further two titles to that amount before departing Spain for Italian giants Juventus.

The forward was not able to add to his European medal haul in Turin and elected to rejoin Man United last summer. He will not be featuring in the Champions League next season though with the Red Devils having stumbled to a sixth-placed finish under Ralf Rangnick last term.

He has already made clear his ambitions of enjoying a better campaign at Old Trafford next term under incoming boss Erik ten Hag. Speaking earlier this month, he said: "I know he did a fantastic job for Ajax and that he's an experienced coach but we need to give him time and things need to change the way he wants.

"I hope we have success of course because if you have success all of Manchester are going to have success as well. So I wish him the best. We are happy and excited, not only the players but the supporters as well. I wish him the best and let's believe that next year we're going to win trophies."
