Try as they might, Bochum just could not force an equaliser in Freiburg last weekend. VfL have now lost their first four matches of the Bundesliga season, and are the only team without a single point on the board heading into Matchday 5. Ivan Ordets dropped to the bench against Freiburg, but could be recalled in defence after full-backs Kostas Stafylidis and Saidy Janko picked up knocks. New arrival Lys Mousset could also be in line for a debut. Otherwise, it's as you were for head coach Thomas Reis as he attempts to rectify the Ruhr district club's worst ever start to a top-flight campaign.

While it's cloudy with a chance of the sophomore slump in Bochum, the early-season outlook is bright by comparison for Bremen. Ole Werner's team have taken five points from the first 12 on offer, and were unbeaten until the 4-3 defeat to UEFA Europa League holders Eintracht Frankfurt last time out. Despite Burke's goals from the bench against VfB Stuttgart and Borussia Dortmund, Werner appears pretty set on his preferred starting line-up. It's fair to assume the flying Scotman will be named among the substitutes for the fifth match in a row.

Simon Zoller has scored two of Bochum's three Bundesliga goals so far this season. Only 17th-placed Hertha Berlin have produced fewer team goals (two).
