The pressure on Ronald Koeman continues to swirl but the Barcelona boss knows one sure-fire way to ease it is to claim victory over old rivals Real Madrid today.

El Clasico remains one of the most iconic games in world football and so much hyperbole surrounds it but today represents a new era.

Lionel Messi, Sergio Ramos, Cristiano Ronaldo and Luis Suarez are all now long gone, with new stars looking to make themselves heroes at Camp Nou.

Barca sit eighth in La Liga ahead of kickoff, with Real Madrid in fourth place - albeit only two points ahead of the Blaugrana.

Barcelona are without key central defender Ronald Araujo, meaning Gerard Pique is likely to be partnered by Eric Garcia in the heart of defence.

Experienced left-back Jordi Alba is also a doubt while teenage star midfielder Pedri is also out, and will likely mean Gavi - a year younger - will again be involved from the start.

Ousmane Dembele is unlikely to be fit enough to start, but both Sergio Aguero and Ansu Fati are in contention after regaining fitness.
