The Blues secured a 2-0 victory in late April, which brought an abrupt end to Liverpool's 16-match unbeaten league run.
A week later, The Reds capitulated saw a 3-0 lead against Crystal Palace disappear in 11 minutes to all but hand the title to Manchester City and leave striker Luis Suarez in tears.
"I only realised how big a deal that was a couple of years later, when people still talked about it. They still talk about it! It was traumatic for them," Ba told The Athletic.
"But we didn't enjoy the fact that we killed their dream, we simply enjoyed winning."
So did he have sympathy for the Kopites around the world and captain Gerrard?
"No, not really," he continued. "Because that's the game. You make errors and others take advantage. What Steven Gerrard has done for the world of football is tremendous.
"But this is life, unfortunately. Not all stories can end in fairy tales."
The 36-year-old also recalled Jose Mourinho's team talk prior to kick-off.
"I remember Jose saying: 'They think we're a Mickey Mouse team! But we will show them!" And we went out fighting.
"I was up against Martin Skrtel and Mama [Mamadou Sakho] and I played an unbelievable game.
"I felt like I did at Newcastle. This was the game that changed Jose's view of me, I think."
The former Senegal international had a torrid time at Stamford Bridge and couldn't replicate his goalscoring form from his Newcastle days.
Ba's Premier League adventure started at West Ham in 2011 and he finished top scorer for the club following their relegation to the Championship.
Newcastle took interest and secured his services, forming a great partnership with Papiss Cisse, netting 29 goals in 58 appearances.
He later joined Chelsea in 2013 - scoring 14 times in 51 appearances across two seasons - but failed to win any silverware as the Blues struggled to build on from their Champions League triumph in 2012.
His controversial goal against Liverpool proved to be his final goal in England's top-flight and left Chelsea to join Besiktas, followed by Shanghai Shenhua and Istanbul Basaksehir.
