Decines-Charpieu is a commune in the Metropolis of Lyon in Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes region in eastern France. The name of the city is often shortened and simply called Decines.
History
Decines left the department of Isere to join the department of Rhone in 1968, and became a member of the Communaute urbaine de Lyon in 1969. On 1 January 2015 Decines left the department of Rhone to join the Metropolis of Lyon.
