Yerry Mina was told to "calm down" by Jordan Pickford after a fiery exchange with Arsenal duo Gabriel and Gabriel Jesus during Everton 's 2-0 defeat in Baltimore.
The Gunners ran out comfortable winners at the M&T Bank Stadium in the United States thanks to goals from Jesus and Bukayo Saka, as Mikel Arteta's side grabbed another pre-season victory. This was Everton's first friendly of their tour and up next is a clash with Minnesota United in the early hours of Thursday morning.
They will return to the United Kingdom for two more pre-season games - against Blackpool and Dynamo Kiev - ahead of their Premier League opener at home to Chelsea on August 6. Meanwhile, Arsenal face Orlando City on Thursday before playing Chelsea to end their time in the States. Arteta's side face Crystal Palace in their first match of the season.
While Everton were second best throughout the game, there were plenty of positives to take for Frank Lampard as he prepares his team for the season. However, one thing he may not have been best pleased about was Mina's reaction after he was involved in a scuffle with Gabriel and Jesus.
From the start of the contest, there were a number of late tackles and several skirmishes between both sets of players - which is not often the way in friendlies such as these. Mina became embroiled in squabbles with Jesus then Gabriel, with the second incident occurring as players waited for the corner Arsenal scored their opener from.

Pickford, who was captain until he was substituted along with every other Everton player at half-time, had to tell Mina to calm down amid his interaction with Gabriel. The Arsenal defender was also involved in a pushing match with Abdoulaye Doucoure after the latter gave away a foul on Granit Xhaka.
It felt like a typical start-of-the-season Premier League encounter between two competitive teams, but it was Arsenal who managed to come out on top in the end. Arteta, who almost guided the Gunners to the Champions League but missed out to Tottenham last season, commented on his side's performance.
He said: "He [Jesus] creates chaos, he creates uncertainty and he's always on your shoulder. He's always there to nick the ball off you, he's always in front of the goal.
"He's a real threat and this is what we need. And then he's the one. The moment we give the ball away he is straight away active and putting pressure and getting his team behind him. He has a lot of leadership skills, I can see straight away what he's doing with the boys and he's the type of guy that we want."
