Why is Henry coaching Belgium?

Henry began his post-playing career by coaching with Arsenal's youth team in 2015 and he was later offered a permanent role with the under-18s.
However, the Gunners icon wanted to remain in a part-time role to continue working in football media.
This lead to him entering international coaching and quickly after Martinez took charge of Belgium in 2016, Henry was appointed as his second assistant alongside Graeme Jones.
The Gunners icon was part of the Belgium coaching team from 2016 to 2018 and then took a short break for club management.

Henry then returned to the coaching staff last year and is now committed to making an impact in Qatar.

In 2018, he was approached by Monaco to take over from Leonard Jardim and he returned to the club he began his career at.
Although less than a year later, he was sacked after only winning four games out of 20 in Ligue 1.
The legend then moved to Canada and took charge of Montreal Impact in the MLS.

This was a more successful period for Henry but his tenure was cut short due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
He resigned in 2021 to return home to his family and then rejoined the Belgium coaching staff to play his part in helping the Red Devils try to achieve glory in this year's World Cup.
